Legal Clinics

VLS IN-PERSON LEGAL ADVICE CLINICS

Legal advice clinics are currently held at two Austin Public Library locations:

St. John Branch and Ruiz Branch

Applicants line up for registration at one of our evening legal clinics.

Attorney Volunteer Opportunities:

VLS hosts a Legal Advice Clinic open to members of Greater Austin/Central Texas to receive free legal advice and apply for pro bono representation. The clinics support people seeking advice on issues such as landlord/tenant & eviction issues, wills, divorce & legal protection in fleeing abusive relationships, bankruptcy and more.

Attorneys can sign up for a volunteer shift as often as makes sense for their schedule or serve as one of our special back-up volunteers for substitutions or emergencies.  Applicants will apply online. Limited walk-ins will be accepted.

Paralegal, Law Student and Community Volunteer Opportunities:

During our clinic, VLS will need paralegals, law students, and other non-attorney volunteers to greet attendees, keep track of time, help attendees with filling out applications, assist attorneys and staff and scanning documents as needed.
