Overview
- VLS provided services to 4,415 clients in 2009. Services ranged from advice-only to legal representation in court.
- Volunteer attorneys donated 14,725 hours of free legal services, valued at more than $3 million in uncharged legal fees.
- Total financial benefits to clients were more than $5 million. These benefits include costs avoided, lump sum awards and monthly benefits secured.
- Such benefits make a huge difference in the lives of our clients, 84% of whom earn below 125% of the Federal Poverty Level ($27,563 for a family of four)
